Romanov Exhibition in the Barn

In recognition of the centenary since the Romanov family were executed (July 1918), Barton Manor Barn plays host to an exhibition of the Russian royal family's artefacts, footage and photos. Tsar Nicholas II and his family visited Barton Manor as guests

Red Cross Open Garden

On Saturday 29th August, the Red Cross will host its first open garden at the Barton Estate. Visitors can enjoy the ten acres of garden, ponds full of carp, the water garden and view the UK's largest collection of red hot pokers between 2.30 and 5pm.

Summer at Barton Estate

The garden is now in full bloom with an abundance of hydrangeas in the water garden and dahlias bringing colour to the borders. The hypericum are lighting a golden path down to the lower pond where the Canada geese are busy rehearsing their migration.

On Sunday 5th July, we opened our gardens to the public in support of the Earl Mountbatten Hospice, following a tradition of the past 25 years. The event raised an incredible £8,500. Many thanks to all the wonderful volunteers who made it happen.

Yoga with Zephyr

We were thrilled to welcome Zephyr Wildman to Barton Estate for her first island yoga retreat. Students arrived from the mainland on Friday afternoon and were joined by island friends for a weekend of delightful yoga asana, meditation and pranayama.

Spring has sprung at Barton, with the 250,000 daffodils now in full bloom down the drive and around main pond. Nesting wildfowl are guarding their chicks, and the herring gulls have returned again to nest on our barn.
